Appendix C – Student Agreement
Talent Opportunities Program (“T.O.P.”) is a program of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (“OCC”) that administers the Canada Student Work Placement Program (“SWPP”) and is committed to operating in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any information provided to OCC in connection with the T.O.P. or otherwise in connection with a student work placement program recipient agreement between OCC and the program recipient (the “Employer”) may be subject to disclosure in accordance with applicable laws. You are a student (“You” or “Student”) that wishes to qualify for T.O.P. and be employed by the Employer subject to the terms and conditions of T.O.P. and the employment terms of the Employer.
Privacy Statement
SWPP is a program funded by Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada (“Canada”) as represented by the Minister of Employment and Social Development. Accordingly, Canada or its designated agent (“Canada’s Designated Agent”) may need the personal information collected and compiled pursuant to T.O.P. and this Student Agreement to:
a. measure the results of T.O.P. and evaluate the success of T.O.P.;
b. evaluate more generally, the success of SWPP in achieving its objective; and
c. meet its obligation of accountability to Canadian Parliament and the Canadian public for the operation of SWPP by reporting on the results of SWPP and its success in achieving its objective.
By participating in T.O.P., You may be subject to a longitudinal study administered by Statistics Canada.
When provided to Canada, the personal information collected under this Student Agreement is administered in accordance with the Privacy Act (Federal) and the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada Act (Federal). You have a right under the Access to Information Act (Federal) to obtain access to that information from Canada. When provided to Canada’s Designated Agent, the personal information collected and compiled pursuant to this Student Agreement is administered in accordance with the Privacy Act (Federal). You have a right under the Access to Information Act (Federal) to obtain access to that information.
Personal information provided by You is used by OCC and its technology and delivery partners for the purposes of assessing, processing and reporting on an application for the SWPP and may also be shared with postsecondary institutions, the Employer, and federal, provincial or municipal governments (collectively, the technology and delivery partners together with the foregoing shall be referred to as the “Third Party Recipients”) to confirm eligibility for the program, facilitate the administration of the program and enable harmonization with other wage subsidy programs (collectively, the foregoing, together with the measuring, evaluating and reporting purposes identified in clauses a., b. and c., above, shall be referred to as the “Purposes”). Anonymized data collected through the program may also be used for labour market research or other research purposes. OCC may from time to time contact applicant organizations to promote OCC programs or services.
